Every four years, tens of thousands of Scouts from across the globe gather for the World Scout Jamboree (WSJ). It’s more than just a camping trip; it’s a massive celebration of culture, peace, and adventure. In 2027, the world is heading to Poland, and we are incredibly proud that one of our own—Hamish—has been selected to represent us!
However, getting to the Jamboree is a mountain of a task, both logistically and financially. To make this dream a reality, Hamish is taking on a legendary Scottish challenge: The Kiltwalk.
The Challenge: The Big Stroll
Hamish isn’t just asking for support; he’s earning it. He will be participating in the Big Stroll Kiltwalk, a grueling long-distance trek that requires stamina, determination, and—given the Scottish weather—a very sturdy pair of boots.
Walking miles in a kilt is no small feat (and we’re hoping for minimal blisters!), but it’s a fitting tribute to the Scouting spirit: “Be Prepared” for anything.
Why Support Hamish?
The World Scout Jamboree is a life-changing experience. By supporting Hamish, you aren’t just funding a trip; you’re investing in:
- Global Citizenship: Learning to collaborate with people from over 150 different countries.
- Leadership Skills: Bringing back new ideas and energy to our Scout group.
- A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity: Most Scouts only get one chance in their life to attend a World Jamboree as a participant.
“The Jamboree is where the world comes together to show that despite our differences, we can build a better future. Hamish is ready to take that step—literally!”
How You Can Help
We are calling on our community, friends, and family to help Hamish reach his fundraising target. Every pound donated goes directly toward his Jamboree fees, equipment, and training camps.
