The 6th East Kilbride Scout Group is on a mission! We’re looking for a dedicated individual or team to help us secure a permanent home. For years, we’ve been providing exciting and enriching experiences for young people in our community, but our current lack of permanent premises is hindering our growth and potential. We believe that having a dedicated space will allow us to offer even more activities, expand our membership, and better serve the local community.
That’s where you come in! We’re seeking someone with the skills and passion to guide us through the process of finding and securing suitable premises. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people and contribute to the future of Scouting in East Kilbride.
What We Need Help With:
This is a crucial role, and we’re looking for someone who can help us with the following:
- Property Research: Identifying and evaluating potential properties in the East Kilbride area that meet our needs.
- Negotiations: Representing the group in negotiations for leases or purchases, ensuring we secure the best possible terms.
- Funding: Exploring and securing funding options, including grants, fundraising initiatives, and potential sponsorship opportunities.
- Legal & Planning Advice: Advising the group on relevant legal and planning regulations, ensuring compliance throughout the process.
Who Are We Looking For?
Ideally, we’re seeking someone with:
- Experience in property acquisition, ideally within the voluntary sector.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of funding applications and fundraising strategies.
- Familiarity with planning and legal procedures related to property.
- A passion for supporting young people and the Scouting movement.
While experience in all these areas would be fantastic, we are open to hearing from individuals with expertise in specific areas who are willing to work collaboratively as part of a team. We are also happy to provide support and guidance where needed.
