Risk Assessments

Keeping Our Members Safe: Risk Assessments for Scouting Activities

The 6th East Kilbride Scout Group prioritises the safety and well-being of all our young people during any activity we organise. To ensure a fun and rewarding experience while minimizing risks, we conduct thorough risk assessments for every event.

This webpage offers a central hub for all our risk assessments related to various scouting activities. Whether it’s a simple meeting at the hall, a day hike in the park, or a multi-day campout, you’ll find a detailed assessment outlining potential hazards and the mitigation strategies we have in place.

Here, you’ll find information on:

  • Types of risks: We identify potential hazards associated with the specific activity, location, and age group participating.
  • Mitigation strategies: We outline the steps we take to minimize risks, ensuring the safety of all Scouts and supervising adults.
  • Emergency procedures: We detail our plan for responding to any unexpected situations, guaranteeing swift and effective action.

By actively managing risks, we create a safe and enjoyable environment where Scouts can develop their skills, explore new experiences, and build lasting memories. We encourage parents and guardians to review the risk assessments for planned activities, allowing them to participate with confidence and peace of mind.
